June 8 is World Oceans Day and it is our collective responsibility to look after the Pacific Ocean and its resources says SPTO Chief Executive Officer, Chris Cocker.

Mr. Cocker made the comment in his video message for World Oceans Day in which he emphasized the importance of the Pacific Ocean to the SPTO 19 member countries and private sector members as majority of the tourism activities and attractions were tied to the Pacific Ocean.

He urged Pacific people to keep to their World Oceans Day pledges whether it be clean-up activities, mangrove planting, reducing the use of single use plastics to remember that every day is World Oceans Day.

Today, the SPTO team joined colleagues from regional organisations in activities organized by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.
